Turaki: PDP’ll reclaim power in Kebbi

- From Ismail Adebayo, Birnin Kebbi

The former minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, yesterday, in Birnin Kebbi said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim the seat of power in Kebbi State.

Turaki, who spoke during the meeting convened by the caretaker committee with the party stakeholders in Birnin Kebbi, said PDP now has all it takes to reclaim the seat of power which was under its control for about 14 years in the state.

“Going by the reconciliation and reorganization going on in the PDP in Kebbi State, it is clear that the party will reclaim the government of the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election,” said Turaki.

It would be recalled that the PDP had been engulfed in crisis in Kebbi State since the last general elections.

Following the appointment of the caretaker committee and the ongoing reconciliation, the party’s secretariat that was shut by the police over the rivalry between the factions of Alhaji Musa Dan Ilellah and Alhaji Ali Bagudo, had been reopened.

The PDP caretaker chairman, Senator Hamdala Wali, who spoke at the meeting, said the caretaker party officials would soon be inaugurated in the 21 local government areas (LGAs) of the state.

“We are back for good and very soon, PDP’s impact will be felt once again in the nooks and crannies of Kebbi,” Wali said.
