8 passengers injured in multiple crashes at Ohono village

Eight passengers were seriously injured in a multiple motor accident which occurred last Thursday evening at Ohono village, along Abuja-Lokoja road.

The Kotonkarfe unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Assistant Corps Commander Kuba George Gwallang, disclosed this to our reporter at the command yesterday.

He said the accident, which occurred at 8am involved three vehicles, which he said included a luxurious bus with registrati­on number XC447NEN, a J5 bus with registrati­on number XT593MUS and another luxurious bus with registrati­on number XC801NEN.

He said the J5 bus which was on top speed tried to avoid a pothole and the two luxurious buses coming from the opposite side rammed into each other after hitting the J5 bus.

He said the eight injured passengers, including a female were taken to Ideal Hospital at Kotonkarfe for attention.

Our reporter also learnt that three people were injured in another accident which occurred on Monday night near Piri village, along AbujaLokoj­a road.

It was gathered that the accident involved a Golf car without registrati­on number after one of the tyres bursted.

When contacted, the Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, Samgbaza Godwin, confirmed the accident, saying the injured victims were taken to Kwali General Hospital for medical attention.
