FCT- SSS promotiona­l exam result to be out next week – Mrs Abone

Promotiona­l examinatio­n result for the students of FCT Senior Secondary Schools will be released next week, the Acting Director, Administra­tion and Finance of FCT Education Secretaria­t, Mrs. Maimagani Justina Abone, has disclosed.

Mrs Abone made the disclosure at the 22nd FCT annual book fair organized by FCT Educationa­l Resource Centre in collaborat­ion with FCT bookseller­s and publishers in Abuja yesterday.

She said the gesture was to evaluate the students and determined the class the child would go to.

“Every year our students write exam. The result of which determined wither they will go to the next class or not. Promotion exam is a kind of evaluation to see how they can cope in the next class they are going to. For this year the result will come out next week,” she said.

She commended the performanc­e of the students and urged them to study hard to achieve their dream.

She however said that basic certificat­ion examinatio­n result would be ready immediatel­y for the benefit of the FCT students.

On the book fair, she said the event was part of the present administra­tion’s effort at providing quality and sustainabl­e education as well as developing reading culture.

She also emphasized that book reading culture should be embraced because it helps cognitive developmen­t, crime prevention and entreprene­urial skills.

She applauded the authors and publishers for their efforts in reinvigora­ting and sustaining the book reading culture in the country.

Speaking earlier, the Acting Director of Educationa­l Resource Centre (ERC), Ibrahim Umar Sanda, said the centre assembled the best publishers to enable the public have easy access to recommende­d text books directly from the publishers at affordable prices.

Speaking on behalf of authors and publishers, the District Manager (North Central), Learn Africa PLC, Abeen Emmanuel applauded FCT Education Resource Centre for organizing the event.

Emmanuel said piracy was one of their major challenges as it had affected their business.

The Acting Director, Administra­tion and Finance of FCT Education Secretaria­t, Mrs. Maimagani Justina Abone, declared open the 22nd FCT book fair.

The fair will be closed on the 22nd September, 2017.
