Youth group unveils documentary challenging vices
A group of youth under the auspices of ‘LET’S TALK’ has unveiled a documentary project that challenges vices and aimed at building moral attitudes among Nigerian youngsters.
The Convener of the group, Comrade Yazeed Yakubu disclosed this when he led his team on a courtesy call to the Daily Trust headquarters in Abuja on Monday. Yakubu who is a young lawyer said the project is an initiative of Yaz Media with support from sister groups based in Abuja.
He said, “We realized that most youth in the 21st century lack a sense of purpose. They have allowed things that do not relate to development and growth of the people and society to control their thoughts and their activities.
“So ‘LET’S TALK’ is a form of reorientation; it is a campaign/documentary for development. It stands for Leadership, Empowerment and Togetherness talk. For this first edition, we have chosen three people whose core values are in line with what we stand for,” he explained.
He said the programme will be aired on radio and will be on television while sharing it across the social media platforms to reach a wider target of youth.
Yakubu who was received by the Deputy Managing Editor, Malam Nasir Imam said they are seeking for partnership with the newspaper to reach more youth with the change and orientation objectives of their programme.
On bringing more youth into the programme, Yakubu said, “It is by putting these things out through the mass media and social media where you find majority of the youth in this generation.”
