- From Aliyu M. Hamagam, Dutse

A lifeless body of 13-year-old Nurah Ahmed was found in the bush with his stomach and his throat cut open in Babaldu town of Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

It was gathered that the deceased was allegedly killed on Wednesday by persons suspected to be ritualists, who were said to have removed his heart.

According to a source, late Ahmed who was sent on an errand alongside his brother, was said to have been cornered by the suspected ritualists when they asked him to go into one of the houses nearby and call their girlfriend for them.

It added that the parents of the deceased raised alarm when they realised it was getting late but Ahmed had not returned home, leading to the launching of a search for him in the area without success. It was until the following morning that his lifeless body was discovered in the bush cut open.

“The deceased and his brother were sent with some sorghum for grinding at one of the community’s grinding mills. The killers asked the other brother carrying the stuff for grinding to go ahead with the errand while Late Nurah Ahmed was asked to go into one of the houses and call their girl friend.

“You know, all the information was coming from late Ahmed’s brother who was sent along side his late brother by their mother. He said, the suspected killers were three in number,” the source said.

When contacted, the state police image maker, SP Abdul Jinjiri, confirmed the incident saying that investigation into the matter had began. “The deceased’s neck was cut while his stomach was ripped open but nothing was removed,” he explained.
