Kick out those undermining your agenda – Buhari advised
An elder statesman, Engineer Yusuf Adamu, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to identify people who can deliver on his programmes with a view to getting the country out of its present predicament.
Engineer Adamu, in an open letter to the president and made available to Daily Trust yesterday in Kaduna, said “Cabinet reshuffling as a first stage is not a good starting point because moving one minister to another ministry will even compound the problem by carrying inefficiency to the new ministry.”
He said the best way to go about it is to kick out those incompetent and uncommitted ministers and replace them with new people who can do the work.
He said, “The change or shake-up should start from the presidency. Anybody who cannot add value to you should go. People are suggesting that you need a civilian equivalent of late Tunde Idiagbon to make things work because the presidency is the gateway of your administration.
“You need a gate keeper who will make it possible for you to accomplish your agenda, honest people who will always assist you and tell you how things are and committed to you to achieve your objectives of being a source of joy and political strength to the masses who supported you.”
He added, “There seems to be a gap and a divide between the party and the presidency which can be attributed to the cabal. This gap does not need to exist because you need the party and the people, reach out to them and anybody undermining you and your agenda needs to be kicked out.”
