FCT police gets new commission­er, solicits for residents support

The new police commission­er of the FCT, Sadiq Abubakar Bello, on Wednesday assumed office and solicited for the support and cooperatio­n of residents of the territory.

The new police boss who took over from Musa Kimo, is the immediate past commission­er of police in Nasarawa State.

Sadiq, while speaking during the handing over, expressed his readiness to partner spirited individual­s, groups and all security agencies to ensure crime is reduced in the FCT and it’s environs.

He added that he will evolve strategies that will build on the gains of his predecesso­r and make the FCT safe and secure for all.

City News learnt that the new FCT police commission­er holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Bayero University. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1988 as Assistant Superinten­dent of Police (ASP).
