‘Buharism’ is unbeatable ideology – Sen Yusuf
Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf, representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, has backed possible return of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
He said the phenomenon of ‘Buharism’ and ‘Buhariyyah’ is not a person but an ideology.
Senator Yusuf, who spoke at a press briefing in Abuja, yesterday, commended the presidency for the Federal Executive Council’s approval of $5.792 billion to get the Mambilla hydroelectric dam project in Taraba off the ground for the first time in 45 years.
He said more than N13 billion had been wasted by successive administrations over the consideration of the contract, but that ‘Buharism’ had taken a clear vision and aspiration about a 21st century Nigeria to move the six-year dam building project forward.
“It is not just the person of [Buhari] that is driving a 21st century Nigeria. It is the character, principle and ideology of sanity, rule of law and patriotism, as it is clearly exemplified in the person of Mr President that is the hallmark of this movement,” said Yusuf.
“The effigy of the character of a single politician, or the collection of certain individual characters, jointed or disjointed, cannot stand to challenge this movement today, come 2019, and even beyond the historical and political perspectives of individuals aligning and realigning for the game of power,” said Yusuf.
“It is very clear that the game of power has its limits in lacking the capacity to challenge an ideological movement rooted in sanity, rule of law and pure, crystal patriotism.”
