CITY NEWS Police nab two over abduction of 14-year-old girl
The police in Gwarinpa have arrested two people over the abduction of a 14-year-old girl on Friday.
A police source said one of the suspects had unprotected sexual intercourse with the victim.
The source said the victim’s sister reported at the police station at about 3p.m. on Friday that she left the house on Thursday to an unknown location.
The source said the victim left after a disagreement with her sister.
The source said during investigation, it was discovered that a security guard at a hotel in the area, Ejike, was last seen with her. According to the source, when Ejike was interrogated, he said he took her to his house in Saburi near Dei Dei.
The source said Ejike left the girl with his friend Israel who had sexual intercourse with her “throughout the night.”
The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident.
He said investigations showed that the girl consented to the sexual intercourse.
“During interrogation the victim stated that it was Ejike that took her and joined her with his friend named Israel and left them in his room where they spent the night having sex,” he said.
He said the suspects confessed to have committed the crime adding that they thought she was above 18 years old. The DPO said they would be prosecuted.
