Powers of darkness fighting back – Oyegun

- By Muideen Olaniyi

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said that the powers of darkness have taken advantage of President Muhammadu Buhari’s insistence on “due process”, “fairness” and “justice” to launch attacks that are now threatening Nigeria.

Chief Odigie-Oyegun was speaking at the weekend during a special event organised to honour him on the occasion of his 78th birthday anniversary by the Inner Circle of Friends, University of Ibadan Alumni.

He said the foundation of the nation was “being rocked deliberately” because of the change promised by the APC administration.

He said, “Because of the kind of president we are lucky to have; because we have a man who is thorough; we have a man as president who insists on fairness, who insists that justice must be given its due place and that everything must take place according to due process, the powers of darkness have taken advantage of this to fight back in such a massive way that they are beginning to threaten the very foundation of our nation.”

Chief Odigie-Oyegun, who acknowledged hardship in the land, appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience as the trying moment would soon be over.

He said despite the ongoing agitations in the country, Nigeria would remain an indivisible element, going by “the current new economic foundation that president is laboriously and painstakingly putting together.”
