APC youth group accuses FCT minister of lopsided appointments
A youth group, under the aegis of All Progressive’s Congress (APC) Concerned Youth Forum, has described the appointment of mandate secretaries by the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, as lopsided.
The chairman of the forum, Comrade Abaji Abdulnas Gani, while addressing newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, said the appointments did not capture the true natives of the territory, describing it as “marginalisation of the highest order.”
He noted that the appointments done during the past FCT minister, Bala Mohammed, favoured natives more than what is happening now.
According to him, at least 10 prominent natives of the FCT were given key appointments then.
He said the present minister only gave two slots to the natives, saying the youth forum of the party is completely dissatisfied with the appointments.
“And it is on this premise that the APC youth forum decided to hold a meeting and come out with a resolution that if the previous administration could consider the natives, then our party, APC, should be able to carry the natives along by doubling what the past administration had done,” he said.
The forum chairman, therefore, urged the minister to do the needful in order to surpass the record of the past PDP administration so that it will instill confidence on followers as well as give good footing to the party in the territory.
“Such lopsided appointments do not bother some of our party leaders who would prefer playing to the gallery and thereby presenting us in bad light to the electorate and entire natives of the FCT,” he added.
