Man hangs self in school premises
The corpse of a yet to be identified man has been found in the premises of a government primary school in Ondo town, Ondo State.
The lifeless body of the man said to be in his middle age was discovered by a security man in the school on Sunday morning.
The security man was said to have raised the alarm when he saw the man dangling from a rope tied to a tree within the premises of the public primary school located at Ayeyemi Street in the community.
Daily Trust correspondent visited the scene early enough to find that the deceased who wore blue jersey and jeans was yet to be brought down.
A pair of sandals said to belong to him was under the tree and a handset was continually ringing in his pocket.
Why he decided to take his life remained shrouded in mystery at press time, and residents of the area believed the deceased came from somewhere far away.
A police source close to Enuowa Police Station in Ondo city, said no suicide note was found anywhere around him, and that his identity was yet to be known.
The source said investigation was on as the security man and other people living within
the environment had been invited for questioning.
Speaking on the matter, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Enuowa division, Mr. Xpress Omoigui, said information concerning the incident forwarded to quarters.
The spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command Femi Joseph told Daily Trust that there was delay in bringing down the corpse because members of the community said they needed first to perform some rites to prevent a recurrence of the incident. had been appropriate
