A motorist has died after two brands of Honda vehicles were involved in a head on collision at Gwarinpa bypass on Sunday morning.

A police source said the other driver involved in the accident sustained injury.

The source said the deceased, identified only as Mr Okoro, died at the Kubwa General Hospital, where he was taken after he sustained an injury in the accident.

The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident.

He said “It was a head on collusion. One was coming from Jahi and the other was driving from Life Camp area.”

“There were only two people, one in each the vehicles. The corpse was deposited in the mortuary and the deceased families have been informed,” he said.

The vehicles involved were all Honda brands of cars. The police in Gwarinpa have arrested a security guard for assaulting a tenant after he was told to stop smoking a substance that allegedly smelt like Indian hemp in the compound.

Police sources alleged that the tenant, a woman, sustained injuries to her face when the suspect slapped her on Sunday morning.

A source said the tenant was in her room when smoke from Indian hemp drifted into her room through the window.

The source said she went out and discovered that the security guard was smoking beside the window of her apartment.

The source said victim confronted suspect.

“She came out and asked him to leave but he raised his hand and slapped her on the face. Her left eye was swollen,” the source said.

The source said some residents informed police officers about the rancour.

The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident.

He identified the suspect as Patrick, a locally sourced security guard employed at the building.

“The woman was taken to a private hospital where she was treated and discharged on Sunday,” he said.

He said the suspect would be prosecuted. the the
