Don’t ask too much from Buhari - APC vice chair
The National Vice Chairman of the APC for South-South, Ntufam Hilliard Eta, has cautioned the party’s members in Cross River State against mounting undue pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari for more federal appointments, saying the president has favoured the state more than any other.
He also urged them to stop increased bickering and divisive tendencies, saying these were capable of hampering the chances of the party in 2019.
Speaking to journalists in Calabar, Eta said with increasing differences and agitations, the party might have serious hurdles in getting electoral victory in the next gubernatorial election in the state.
“I want all members of the party to play down on differences so that we can have a united front as we intensify efforts to take over government house.
“Even though it is normal in any human gathering to have differences in their views and postulations, yet, they must remember that they are members of one APC family which is determined on winning power come 2019.
“I want to advise us against asking too much from Mr President. Unlike our brother who was president for many years, Buhari has today favoured our state with several key federal appointments than many other states, which we should otherwise be thankful to Mr President for,” Eta said.
