NUJ extols Gaidam over healthcare, road projects
The national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Yobe State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam for building and rehabilitating hospitals and improving healthcare delivery services.
Deputy President of the NUJ Alhaji Mukhtar Gidado and Vice President Northeast Hajia Aisha Ibrahim made the commendation in the state capital Damaturu during an inspection of projects, including the state specialist hospital, the new Yobe University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH) and the new College of Medical Sciences under construction at the Yobe State University campus.
Mukhtar Gidado said the new ‘lease of life’ injected into what used to be ‘collapsed infrastructural facilities’ in Yobe State was pointer to the progress the state was currently making under Governor IbrahimGaidam. “I commend the governor for staying true to the yearnings of Yobe people,” he said.
The NUJ Vice President for Northeast Hajia Aisha Ibrahim said the equipment and facilities she saw at the Yobe University Teaching Hospital “are very much comparable to those in a world class hospital that I was admitted to in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia recently.”
On their own, the chairmen of Bauchi and Gombe councils of the NUJ, Ibrahim Mallam Goje and Alhassan Yahaya respectively, said Gaidam’s achievements in healthcare and roads were the best especially around the North.
