@shagcy The recently formed Ladies Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria, LPGA has received a boost as it signed a memorandum with Ojay’s Travels and Tours Limited, with a aim to develop the game among the ladies.

Chairman, Board of Trustees of LPGA, Chief Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo signed on behalf of the Ladies Association while Managing Partner, Ojay’s Travels and Tour Limited, Hans Omang signed on behalf of the company.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nwodo, a former Governor of Enugu state and former Chairman of People’s Democratic Party, described the event as symbolic. He said it took Nigeria, 57 years to realize the formation of Professional Ladies Golfers Association when some countries in Africa, especially South Africa have become a force to reckon with.

He regretted that though Nigeria has golf clubs across the federation, as well as plenty of men and women amateur golfers, the number of professional ladies are very few.

The Managing Partner of the Limited, Hans Omang, who was accompanied to the signing ceremony by Operations Manager, Buchi Mogbogu and Marketing and Sales Officer, Chidera Emene, said the company is ready to support the Association in whatever form. He said the company has been eager to associate with any Association that is targeting youths development.

The General Manager, IBB international Golf and Country Club, Abuja, Ado Gonji and the Nigeria’s number lady professional Golfer, Uloma Mbuko said the sky is the limit for the association.
