FCT-UBEB, NGO sensitize Kwali rural community on education
The Federal Capital Territory Administration Universal Basic Education Board (FCTA-UBEB), in partnership with a non-governmental organisation, Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative, has sensitised Kwali rural communities on the importance of enrolling children into school.
The mobilisation team headed by the Deputy Director and Head of Mobilisation of FCTA-UBEB, Kudu Dangana, visited Dapa, Chida and Bukpe villages in Kwali Area Council.
“What I saw in some schools in rural areas were so disturbing. Some of our structures have been vandalised, furniture items destroyed and there was no water.
“In my reports I told my director that we need to give attention to the schools in the rural areas. We have to do serious sensitisation for these people who have neglected education,” Dangana said.
He emphasised the importance of education and urged members of the communities to send their children to school.
He stated that it was only through education that the communities could achieve their desired objectives.
Also speaking, the Head of Public Relations Unit of FCTA-UBEB, Muhammed Sani Lawal, urged parents to take proactive measures and ensure their children go to school on time.
In his remarks, the Madakin Dapa community, Yusuf Dangara, thanked the mobilisation team.
Also speaking, the secretary of Chida community, Ali Dodon Dawa, said lack of funds was their major challenge in sponsoring their children’s education.
