- By David Ngobua

@Ngobuadavid A member of the NFF Executive Committee, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh has expressed confidence that Super Eagles will beat the Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Eagles who lead group B with 10 points need victory over second placed Zambia who are on seven points to make their last match against Algeria a mere formality. Eagles had beaten Zambia 2-1 on October 9 in Lusaka and are highly favoured to do the double over the Chipolopolo.

In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, the chairman of Niger State Football Association said the present form of the Super Eagles has given him the confidence that they will not disappoint their teeming supporters.

Although he said the match will be a difficult one considering that Zambia are also in strong contention for the sole group ticket he maintained that the Eagles are highly motivated to give Nigerians the World Cup ticket come Saturday.

According to him, the NFF has within its limited resources provided all that the Eagles need to triumph over Zambia when they meet again in Uyo.

“I am one of those who believe the Eagles will qualify for Russia 2018 on Saturday. By this I man, the Eagles are not going to wait till their last match against Algeria to Qualify.

“They are highly motivated going into the match and everything points to the fact that they won’t settle for anything less than the three points.

“On our part, the NFF, we have provided the enabling environment for them to do the job. What is left now is for the Eagles to reciprocate the gesture of the government and people of Nigeria,” he said.
