Okumagba’s Nigeria football supporters club faction in crisis

- By David Ngobua

@Ngobuadavid All is not well in the camp of the Vincent Okumagba faction of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club as some top officials of the club have accused him of high handedness.

An official who spoke on condition of anonymity said their new leadership has deviated from the set goal of the club and is bent on anchoring the affairs of the club on divide and rule.

He said since the chairman took over the leadership of the club, he has negated the common goal of its members

“Okumagba is using divide and rule system on us. He is not forth coming with all that he promised us. All the things he said he will do when we broke away from Rafiu Ladipo’s faction is now like a wide dream,” the top official said.

Reacting to the allegations, Okumagba described the purported looming crisis in his faction as the handiwork of outsiders and mischief makers. Okumagba said in an interview that it was quite unfortunate that some elements within the ranks are allowing outsiders to create disharmony in the group.

“We broke up from Ladipo and we are now in large number. So, how can I be doing divide and rule?

“It’s too early to be talking about that. If you know some of these people, you can understand that lack of education is a problem in this kind of group.

“When you make a statement and they don’t understand it, they will term it to be something else. So, I want to believe that some people outside are beginning to use some of these boys to ferment trouble,” Okumagba said.
