35-year-old teacher lures, abuses minor with N10
A 35-year-old teacher, Mele Goni Modu, has been arrested following an alleged attempt to rape a minor he had lured with N10 in Maiduguri.
Daily Trust gathered that the teacher allegedly lured the four-year-old girl to bed at Old Maiduguri area near Success Secondary School in Jere Local Government area of Borno State.
A family source said the victim explained what happened on that fateful day to her mother which led to the suspect’s arrest.
“She was said to be called by her Islamiyya teacher to his office and he said he would give her N10, and he pulled her clothes and pants and asked her to lie on the ground of which she did and he also pull his clothes and tried to penetrate her, but she refused and he slapped her and inserted his finger into her private part several times.
“The girl started crying aloud, she cried all the way home,” the source said.
She reported to her mother and the suspect was arrested by the Civilian JTF and thereafter taken to old Maiduguri Division police station where he confessed to the crime, the source added.
The source said the State Specialist Hospital confirmed that the suspect’s finger had penetrated the girl’s private part.
A police source said the suspect had been accused of series of such acts in recent times, adding that he has since been transferred to State CID for interrogation before prosecution.
