We have impacted positively on lives of residents – APC chair

- By Abubakar Sadiq Isah

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the FCT, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, has said the party provided democratic dividends to the residents of the territory within the one year in office of the present area council chairmen.

Speaking during an interview with our reporter yesterday in Abuja, Usman said since the assumption of the area council chairmen under the party’s platform, civil servants and teachers have been receiving their salaries as at when due.

He said some area councils have embarked on electrification of various villages and construction of rural feeder roads.

He said there are some projects that were left uncompleted by the past chairmen, which the present APC council chairmen on assumption in office ensured their completion.

He said the ruling APC has not rested on its oars in ensuring they provided viable projects that would impact on the lives of ordinary residents of the territory.

Usman added that the party would always stand by its manifesto to provide democratic dividends.

He said the incessant defection of some party bigwigs and stakeholders from the opposition to the APC was a clear indication that the party was performing and meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the masses.

“I can recall that a chieftain of APC once said that the people at the grassroots have not felt the impact of the APC government, but I want to assure you that we have done well despite the rot we came and met on ground,” he said.

The chairman said the party would again spring a surprise in the 2019 elections.
