Kwankwasiyya ideology beyond rhetoric — Support org
The Kwankwasiyya Support Organisation (KSO) said yesterday that a former governor of Kano State, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s foray is beyond political rhetoric, noting that he is a symbol of service to the people and nation.
The organisation stated this during a visit to the corporate office of Media Trust Ltd, publishers of the Daily Trust titles, in Abuja.
The Director General of KSO, retired Air Commodore Sani Abdullahi Zakari, said their group was not a political movement, but an NGO set up to support and propagates the ideology of the former Kano State governor, including good governance, solid foundation for development and equal opportunity for the poor as symbolized by the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“We came here as a group, not only on a courtesy call, but to build a relationship with you because we have trust in you.
“We are one of the groups supporting Kwankwasiyya ideology; it is an off shoot of the ideology of late Malam Aminu Kano, who lived and died fighting for the masses,” he said.
Zakari said the group was not about Kwankwaso but what the former governor stood for.
“We have branches all over Nigeria, in the United States and in Britain, and all people of goodwill, including those in position of authority, such as some governors and serving senators are aligning themselves with Kwankwaso’s practical performance when he was governor and what he is doing now as senator,” he said.
When asked of Kwankwaso’s aspiration for the presidency, Zakari said, “If the senator has an ambition, then it seems a good ambition.”
