Aisha Buhari tasks journalists on positive reports

- By Pebang Danladi

The Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has appealed to journalists to pass the message of hope to Nigerians as the potentials for greatness remain strong despite current challenges.

Speaking in Abuja Tuesday as the special guest of honour at the public presentation of a magazine, The Presidential Diary, Aisha Buhari said journalists would do the nation well by always communicating hope to the people because there is indeed cause for hope.

Aisha Buhari who spoke through the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, asked writers of The Presidential Diary magazine to fill gaps in the reportage of the Presidency. She said, “So much is done that is not reported. We depend on you to pass the information. Communicate hope to the people.”

The initiator and editorial adviser of The Presidential Diary, Dr Abubakar Jimoh, had earlier spoken of a gap in the reportage of the Presidency and governance generally. “There is a yawning information gap between the government and the governed,” Jimoh said, adding that the magazine was created to fill the gap through highly motivated journalists.

The guest speaker on the occasion and former Commissioner of Information in Edo State, Prince Kasim Afegbua, asked all Nigerians as individuals to help the war against corruption by reforming their own ways as it is unhelpful to make Nigeria look like a country of sins without sinners.
