NNEW summit to promote women entrepreneurship
The NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) summit is geared towards promoting women entrepreneurship in Nigeria, the chairperson, Abuja chapter, Mrs Ekaette Umoh, has said.
Ekaette Umoh who made the statement at a press conference in Abuja, yesterday, said the event which will host members from Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja and across Nigeria, would open new opportunities for women in an effort to nurture outstanding entrepreneurs in the country.
“The summit slated for 1st and 2nd of November with the theme ‘Giant Strides: Breaking Barriers’ which will hold at the NAF conference centre Abuja, will enlighten women on uncommon business opportunities, innovative ways to overcome the barriers that impede business success and serve as avenue to learn from other successful entrepreneurs,” she said.
Umoh said the various speakers invited for the event will enlighten participants on how to make giant strides and overcome challenges in their businesses.
The facilitators at the event include the CEO of House of Tara international, Mrs Tara Fela-Durotoye; MD Chapel of Denham Limited, Mrs Onouju Irukwu; Director, Enterprise Development (EDC) of Pan Atlantic University, Mr Peter Bamkole; Vice Chair, ENL Consortium, Princess (Dr) Vicky Haastrup; and CEO of Ruff and Tumble, Mrs Adenike Ogunlesi.
The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, will also speak at the event. Participants will pay 25,000 to participate and exhibit their products at the event.
Over the years, NNEW has developed the managerial capacity of over 1000 members in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja chapters and metamorphosed into a force to be reckoned with in the area of economic empowerment for women.
