Nnaji, Daudu, Odah drill Campers in Kwese Prospect Camp

National team coaches comprising Scott Nnaji, Ayinla Johnson, Adeka Daudu, Emma Odah and others are drilling prospectiv­e Kwese Premier League players in the ongoing Kwese Prospect Camp holding in Kaduna.

A total of 65 players participat­ing in the inaugural edition of a basketball youth camp were taken through various drills in the morning and afternoon sessions of the opening day yesterday at the outdoor courts of the Murtala Square, Kaduna.

The camp, a youth developmen­t initiative targeted at grassroots basketball developmen­t for players 19 years and below, according to Ebuka Ifeanyi, a camper is one of the best things that has happened to his career so far. Ifeanyi who travelled from Lagos to Kaduna for the camp believes there is no way his career will remain the same after the camp.

“I am optimistic that after this camp my career will forge ahead. I believe with what I am seeing so far l will not find it difficult in playing in the premier league soon. I want to get better mentally and physically in order to get recruited to play in the Kwese league,” the youngster said.

Kwese Premier League Director, Mr. Ajibarede Bello, said with the level of enthusiasm displayed by the players in the camp so far the intensive three-day exercise will achieve its aims of preparing and shaping their character and skills to play in the league and national teams.

He said already the camp instructor­s have commenced mentoring sessions on the campers and players from various academies nationwide.
