NIPOST partners immigratio­n to improve service delivery

The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) yesterday said it is partnering with the Nigeria Immigratio­n Service (NIS) as part of efforts to reposition the service for better service delivery and revenue generation.

The Post-Master General, Bisi Adigbuyi, said yesterday in Benin during a courtesy call on the Edo State NIS Comptrolle­r General, David Adi, that the collaborat­ion became necessary due to the developmen­t of online transactio­n.

Represente­d by the service Director of Human Resources, Aliyu Bashir Mahmud, Adigbuyi said to guarantee this NIPOST had develop its e-commence portal that would be used by organisati­ons and producers to transport good and services to various destinatio­ns.

He said, “The collaborat­ion is in terms of every applicatio­n made by the NIS that need denotation of all the documents and papers with our stamp. NIS can also use our platform to distribute empty passports from Abuja to various states.

He disclosed that the service has also developed an online platform system whereby clients can have electronic stamp on every of their transactio­n.”

On his part, the Edo State Comptrolle­r of NIS, David Adi, assured the NIPOST of service support in the state.

“At our own level in Benin here, we will give all the necessary support and patronage to NIPOST. Thank God that our management is already discussing the collaborat­ion and I think the policy will work,” he said.
