After Lawal, Oke sack, what next for Buhari?

-

President Buhari has finally sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and replaced him with Boss Mustapha, who prior to his new appointment, was the Director General of the Nigeria Inland Waterways.

However, some people have criticized the President for not taking an immediate action against Babachir and Ayo Oke, former head of NIA, within the period they were both accused of corruption but I must applaud the President for finally doing the right thing. Therefore, it will be more right and appropriate if the EFCC can do its job by arresting Lawal and Oke and charge them to court and ensure that they are punished accordingly and adequately.

The President should know that we are all watching with keen interest to see how Lawal and Oke would be treated. We know what the PDP members who have been accused of corruption are going through in the EFCC’s net. Balance and fairness but be maintained.

Let me at this point, appeal to the President to as well take action against the governors who still owe the workers in their states, several months’ salaries and allowances despite the collection of the bailout funds and the Paris Club Refunds. Also, action should be taken against the ministers who are only warming their seats.

Awunah, Pius Terwase, Abuja.
