Algeria Star: We won’t take Nigeria game lightly …as 18 players hit camp

-

Algeria and Nimes defender Liassine Bentaiba Cadamuro has opined that the Super Eagles will be competitive when they face the Algerian National Team on Friday, even though they have already qualified for the World Cup.

Desert Foxes coach Rabah Madjer has summoned Cadamuro for the upcoming games against Nigeria and Central African Republic due to his versatility as he can operate as a right back, central defender or left back.

“Qualification for the World Cup has not been achieved, but this match against Nigeria will serve us to prepare for the next African Cup of Nations,” Cadamuro said to Le Buteur.

“Nigeria qualified and had a very good playoff phase. I do not think, however, that they will come as tourists, even if they are sure to finish first in the group.

“It’s up to us to prepare well this week in order to approach the meeting. We should not take this game lightly.”

Cadamuro was a non-playing substitute when the Super Eagles beat Algeria 3-1 on match day two of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in November 2016.

Meanwhile, Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that three Super Eagles players have arrived the team’s Golden Tulip Farah Hotel in Rabat, bringing the total number of players confirmed to be in camp to 18.

Chelsea defender Ola Aina, Mainz ace Leon Balogun and Bursaspor’s William Troost-Ekong have reported for international duty.

The players in camp will not workout in the gym on Tuesday morning, and their first training session on Moroccan soil will hold later this evening on the grass.

Nigeria qualified for their sixth World Cup with a game to spare after beating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo on game week five, topping Group B of the qualifiers with 13 points in the process.

On Friday, the Super Eagles will fly to Constantine, where they face Algeria at the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui from 8.30pm Algeria time on Friday.

The three-time African champions will wrap up their 2017 schedule against Argentina at the Krasnodar Stadium in Russia on Tuesday, 14 November.
