Women urged to take giant strides

Women have been urged to take giant strides and break barriers to attain their goals as entreprene­urs.

This call was made at the just concluded summit organised by the NECAs Network of Entreprene­urial women NNEW which was held in Abuja with the theme, Giant Strides, Breaking Barriers. One of the key note speakers and Director, Enterprise Developmen­t (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University Mr Peter Bankole said for women to be able to break barriers and take giant strides, it is very important for them to network. “it important for those with short legs to make giant strides, but they have to ride on the legs of giants. So networking is a very powerful tool”. he said.

The National President of NNEW , Mrs Modupe Oyekunle urged women to look beyond the economic situation in the country and break barriers to attain their goals. “It is possible to break barriers and take giant strides. In this conference we have women who have broken barriers and we have them here to inspire and interact with others to inspire them to take giant strides.” She said.

One of the facilitato­rs and SSA, Foreign Affairs and Diaspora to the president Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa urged women to learn to add value to their jobs and with hard work and persistenc­e they will get to great heights.

Also, another facilitato­r, CEO of Amira Youghurt and a real estate developer, Dr Mrs Amina Zanna Ibrahim asked women to be creative and innovative in any business they are doing to be able to stand out amongst the crowd.

Similarly the CEO of Nkachi Consulting Mr Sam Ikoku urged women to get motivated and get started on any venture they want to embark on.
