Crisis rocks APC support groups
Crisis of confidence has rocked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups as the central leadership of the coalition has condemned the visit of some senators to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House under its banner.
The Chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Groups (CASG), Ambassador Lawal Mohammed Munir, who addressed journalists yesterday in Abuja, used unprintable language in describing some senators, saying the coalition found it “strange and shocking to see the rise of a body called the National Committee for Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG).”
Ambassador Munir said the briefing was convened to tell President Buhari and other Nigerians that the senators who visited him did not represent the support groups.
“It has become pertinent for us to state that we are now witnessing misguided efforts by some mischievous elements and vested interest groups trying to take advantage of our collective struggle to further their selfish political interest,” Ambassador Munir said.
He, therefore, advised them to submit themselves to the leadership of CASG as done by the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) whose headquarters was recently commissioned in Abuja.
He voiced the CASG’s loyalty and commitment to President Buhari as a mark of covenant with the party and his leadership.
