One good thing about workout is that it can be done anywhere, whether in urban or rural areas. Therefore retirees are encouraged to take a walk either in the mornings or evenings for sightseeing and also keeping fit.

Retirees should make it a point of duty to watch what they eat. Sometimes foods with high cholesterol can be reduced. Since in retirement one has time to himself/herself, eating healthy and balanced diet food is important.

Fruits, according to health practitioners, are important to humans as they repair worn out tissues in the human system as aging comes in. Therefore, constant consumption of fruits can help in maintaining good body system.

Most retirees in Nigeria have been diagnosed as having many diseases ranging from diabetes, high blood pressure among others. Therefore, the only way to keep these ailments in check is to go for routine medical check-up so as to avoid preventable deaths.
