Youth group opens challenge to promote SDGs
@LatifatOpoola The Creative Youth Initiative Against Corruption (CYIAC) has begun nationwide registration for a ‘Creative Challenge’ to promote global goals under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The group said the objective is to promote creativity, develop talents and build confidence whilst encouraging culture of integrity amongst children and youth.
In a statement, the Project Director, Foluke Michael said the contest is open to children and youth in Primary and Secondary schools, Tertiary Institutions with candidates between ages nine and 25 years.
Foluke said: “Participants will be required to submit essays, short stories or creative ideas online, based on the theme ‘Imagine the World Free from Corruption’. It will be followed by virtual interviews and screening exercise from January 27, 2018.
“All entrants will follow the ‘CYIAC Five’ (Make, Create and Innovate) approach. The final showcase of creative ideas, innovation and products will be presented to local and International audience as contribution to achieving SDGs,” she added.
She said based on the theme for the 2018 creative contest ’IMAGINE A WORLD FREE FROM CORRUPTION’, CYIAC participants will express their vision through the medium of painting, literary arts, music, dance, digital communication, entrepreneurship, sustainable housing, and information technology.
She said participants can register through the group’s website or download the CYIAC App from Google Play Store and other platforms.
