Youth could be vehicles for sustainable devt — Lajada
@SimonEchewofun Youths in Nigeria could be effectively mobilsed as vehicles for sustainable development if they are properly mobilized by leaders, an APC Presidential aspirant, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Lajada has said.
Lajada who spoke to newsmen in Abuja also pledged to properly empower the youth with a view to enable them to play an active role in the country’s socioeconomic and political development.
He cited three areas including vocational education, entrepreneurship training and exposure to new methods of farming and business activities that would help empower the youth.
The aspirant said to achieve this, youth needs to be guided, well mobilised and financially empowered.
The presidential candidate said vocational and training is of critical importance to youths empowerment and that efforts should be taken to ensure that the young people do not drop out of education and the training schemes because they feel socially excluded, adding that employers should engage with the youths in an effort to expose them to gain more experience.
He also revealed that already, his own organization has successfully mobilized over 31 million youth to be used for effective agricultural development and entrepreneurship activities to review the country’s potentials.
