CRIME Suspect with 7 human skulls, Man remanded over issuance of fake Army sergeant paraded in Kwara N1.1m bank alert

A Gombe State magistrate’s court has ordered a 21-yearold man to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly issuing fake bank alert.

The accused person, Jessy Isah of No.1 Avenue Gwarinpa quarters, Abuja is facing a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and cheating.

The court was told that on October 27, the accused allegedly conspired with one Bello alias Barry of Wuntin Dada quarters, Bauchi, who is now at large, to meet one Tochukwu Eze of Jekadafari quarters and collect electric cables worth N1.1 million.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Habibu Danjuma, told the court that the accused persons also generated a fake transfer of the said amount to his account number. However, when the police First Informatio­n Report (FIR) was read to the first accused person, he pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Japhet Maida, adjourned the case to November 29 to enable the police to conclude their investigat­ion.

Asuspect allegedly arrested with seven human skulls was yesterday paraded by the Kwara State Police Command among other suspected criminals in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Commission­er of Police in the state, Lawan Ado, said the suspect was arrested along Ilorin-AjaseIpo road with a sack containing the seven human skulls.

He said the suspect confessed to have exhumed the heads at a Muslim cemetery located at Igbo Owu community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

The police boss, who said the suspect had allegedly exhumed the heads for ritual purposes, added that the police were on the trail of one other person who committed the offence along with the suspect.

He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigat­ion was concluded on the matter.

During his interrogat­ion, the suspect said his accomplice that escaped police arrest was the one that initiated him into the crime, adding that they meant to use the seven human skulls used in money making ritual.

The state police command also paraded five other suspects, including a serving Nigerian Army sergeant, who were allegedly arrested for theft of a brand new Land Rover jeep belonging to the minister of state for Niger Delta, Professor Claudius Daramola.

The police commission­er, who described the suspects as an interstate armed robbery gang, said they stole the vehicle at the residence of the minister at Tanke area of Ilorin metropolis.

He said the military man and the other suspects had confessed to the crime. He added that the military man was a deserter.

Ado also paraded a threeman robbery gang that allegedly specialize­d in using a taxi cab to snatch exotic cars in the Ilorin metropolis. He said the suspects were cattle rustlers before graduating to car snatching.
