‘This girl seduced me into having sex with her’

A 29-year-old man, Abdulahi Sanni, who was arrested allegedly for having sexual intercourse with a nine-year-old girl, has claimed the underaged girl actually lured him into the act.

Though he admitted having a penchant for making love with young girls, he said that on this particular act, he got the goahead from the young girl before he had sex with her.

But a witness, who identified himself as Kabiru Hassan, maintained that it was the accused who lured the victim to a corner behind a kiosk opposite the Ojo cantonment, on the Lagos-Badagry expressway last Wednesday where he had canal knowlege of her.

The witness said that the victim alleged that the suspect manhandled her before he finally had his way.

Sanni was allegedly caught in the act and handed over to the police at the Onireke Division. But City News learnt he insisted during interrogation he was being victimized as he sought the consent of the victim before he engaged her in sex.

It was also understood that a medical test conducted on the victim showed that the young girl was actually defiled by the suspect.

Consequently, the matter was charged before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s court. Sanni pleaded not guilty.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She then remanded him in prison custody pending when he would perfect his bail condition.
