Bwari boss assures Kubwa residents on improved living conditions

-

Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr Musa Dikko, has said the council will leave no stone unturned in improving the living conditions of Kubwa residents.

He said the council was working hard to provide infrastructure such as modern markets, as well as ensure the regular evacuation of refuse to keep the environment clean.

Dikko made the pledge while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of the ground breaking for Byazhin Model Market in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The chairman said the council was working round the clock to meet the needs of the people in the various communities, and reiterated its efforts to establish more model markets in 2018.

Dikko, who also spoke on the sanitary status of Kubwa town, said the council, in collaboration with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), was able to clear long standing dump sites which poised a threat to the community.

“There has been this refuse dump along 2-1 axis that has been there for over 10 years; it was so life threatening that residents had to move away from the area.

“Another one by the expressway has been there for 15 years, and the one close to my house for 16 years, but all these are no more,” he said.

The Byazhin Model Market design comprises four main blocks of shops, offices, warehouses, clinics, banks and ATM facilities among others.

The council chairman also said plans were on to open an electronics market in January 2018.

According to Dikko, the market, which is situated at Dawaki, in the area council, will comprise assorted and high quality electronics. (NAN)
