How facility managers can grow Nigeria’s economy – experts

- By Chris Agabi

Facility management experts have agreed that lack of facility management culture in Nigeria is retarding the economic growth.

They also agree that besides the need to entrench facility management culture in Nigeria, skilled manpower in facility management in Nigeria must be developed as there is huge skills gap in the industry.

As a part of efforts to address the above concerns, Total Facilities management Ltd (TFML) in collaboration MaxMigold Ltd is introducing in Abuja, a world class facility management training to practitioners in Abuja and environs.

Speaking the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing agreement in Abuja, Mrs. Wando Chukwurah, Total Facilities management Ltd at (TFML) said the training would institutionalise global best practices in facilities management in Abuja.

She said “Total Faculties Management Ltd (TFML) has entered into strategic partnership with Max-Migold Ltd for delivery of best of bestin-class facilities management training to corporate organisations and individual professionals in the facilities management industry in Abuja.”

She noted that “the growth of the real estate sector in the capital city has been remarkable in recent years, but the dearth of high quality facility management training in Abuja has resulted in rapid asset dilapidation and high cost of maintenance with attendant loss of value both to investors and occupants.

Also speaking at the event, the MD/CEO, Max-Migold ltd Mr. Paul Urubami, explained that the training is all inclusive as organisations, hoteliers, estate owners, government ministries, departments and agencies can leverage on it to maximize their facility management budget and resources with maximum value for money.

He noted that, the long term value of a property far outweighs the maintenance costs even as he advised property developers to always engage facility managers at property development stages.
