- From Eugene Agha, Lagos

Top management staff of INTELS Nigeria Limited threw a lavish Christmas and New Year party for some less privileged members of the society in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The party, which was held at the Children of Compassion Centre, Nkpogu village in Port Harcourt on Friday, saw the management of INTELS dolling out several gift items and cash to the home.

INTELS also donated many gifts to the children and cash to the home, which was established and is being managed by the Religious Sisters of Charity.

The Compassion Centre has as its vision: ‘To educate and rehabilitate physically challenged children according to the needs of each individual’.

Director of INTELS Nigeria Limited, Mr. Silvano Bellinato, who led staff of the company to the centre to celebrate Christmas with the children, said the gesture was to demonstrate the company’s belief that “physical challenge should not stop anyone from enjoying full and happy life”.

Medical coordinator of the centre, Sister Pauline Butler, who led other members of staff to receive the INTELS team, commended the company for its numerous support to the centre.

She said INTELS has contributed in no small measure to the well-being and happiness of the children.

According to her, for several years, INTELS has been in the forefront of ensuring that children of Compassion Centre are supported and empowered to realize their full potentials and contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.
