Aisha Buhari’s NGO donates to nursing mothers at Bwari hospital

- By Abubakar Sadiq Isah

Future Assured, a pet project of wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, has donated baby items to nursing mothers at Bwari General Hospital.

The family of ‘Baby of the year’, Owecho Okpeh, who was born on Monday, at exactly 12:00am weighing 3.6 kilogrammes, through caesarian operation at the hospital, also received donations from the organisation.

Making the donations, the former deputy governor of Plateau State and a chieftain of the APC, Dame Pauline Tallen, quoted Mrs Buhari as saying she was worried about the plight of mothers and their children.

She added that her heart was always with nursing mothers who undergo a lot of stress especially while in labour.

She prayed for the quick recovery of all patients at the hospital.

She called on health workers and nurses at the hospital to continue to sustain the good services they have been offering to patients, while commending the hospital management, under the chief medical director, Dr. Osayande Osagie, for emerging the winner of ‘Baby of the year’ in the FCT.

Dr. Osagie commanded the president’s wife for identifying with the less privileged nursing mothers at the hospital despite the trying moment she was going through.

On her part, the Secretary for Health and Human Services Secretariat, Mrs. Amanda Pam, said the secretariat was also very appreciative of the gesture by Mrs Buhari, and called on other NGOs to identify with the less privileged.
