Buhari support group condemns killings
A group in support of President Muhammadu Buhari, ‘Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari (GMB)’, has condemned the renewed spate of killings in parts of the country.
The Director General of GMB, Alhaji Umar Farouk Mohammed, who made this known at a news briefing in Abuja yesterday, described the development as not only dangerous but uncalled for.
“We must learn to tolerate and embrace each other as Nigeria belongs to all,” he said.
Farouk, however, commended President Buhari for what he termed his doggedness in fighting insecurity and corruption in the county.
“Though there are pockets of attacks still going on in parts of the country, we believe the timely intervention by the State’s security agencies in crisisprone areas should be commended rather than totally condemned,” he said.
He expressed the belief that the country shall soon be out of this malady and that citizens would have every reason to appreciate the statesmanship of President Buhari.
Describing the commissioning of additional 10 railway coaches yesterday by the president as another step taken to lessen the transportation hardship of Nigerians, he also applauded the transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi for “bringing to reality the long anticipated return of our ailing railway system.”
He said, “By the launch of these additional coaches, we hope the general public would take advantage of its comfort to reciprocate government efforts by patronising them and make the most out of it.”
