Oyegun: Buhari has outshined PDP’s 16 yrs

- From Linus Effiong, Umuahia

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie Oyegun, has taken a swipe at what he described as the “16 years of maladministration” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari had broken the 16 years record of the PDP with the achievements he recorded in two years.

Oyegun who stated this at a mega rally in Abia, added that, “Our president has done in two years what PDP could not do in 16 years.”

He added that a lot was being done by the present administration in the South East.

Oyegun said President Buhari was working to rebuild the foundation of Nigeria destroyed by previous administrations, and he expressed dismay that the country was one of the few without a rail system.

“A standard railway system is being constructed from one end of the country to another; we are on the road to stable power,” he said.

“Nigeria is self-sufficient in rice production. The bad days are coming to an end; the good days are beginning. In a few days, we will begin to see fruits of President Buhari’s dedication.

“I will take your message to the president that Abians are saying he must run again in 2019,” he said.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Chief Rochas Okorocha, expressed joy at the crowd that graced the rally, noting that the opposition party in Abia was getting stronger.

He said God had given the Igbo 2019 as a second opportunity to correct the mistakes made in the last general elections and therefore, urged them to support the APC.

Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, who is the leader of the APC in Abia State, said Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had been held in bondage by his predecessor.

H e , therefore, called on ex-Governor Theodore Orji to allow the governor to work for the people.
