Your criticism of Bello self-serving, Sen Umaru told
The Niger East Youth Vanguard has berated Senator David Umaru for his criticism against Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, describing it as unfair.
Umaru represents the Niger East senatorial district at the National Assembly and is of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He had recently complained that the governor was marginalizing his district.
But the youths in a statement yesterday in Minna disassociated themselves from the senator, saying Governor Bello meant well and had addressed critical challenges facing the Niger East senatorial district particularly as they had to with roads, electrification, water supply, health, education and others.
They said they were dismayed that the senator ‘decided to split the APC’ in the state and to blackmail the state government “to achieve cheap popularity among the people of the zone.
“We the Niger East Youth Vanguard wish to disassociate ourselves from the content and meaning of the press statement released by the senator titled, ‘Why should I keep quite?’ because he lacks facts and figures to justify his claims,” they said.
They wondered why Senator Umaru who they said should have explored his access to the governor to express his views chose to use the media instead, and urged him to find ways of resolving whatever differences existed between him and the governor.
