The Secretary for Education, FCTA, Senator Isa Maina, has charged members of the newly inaugurated boards of the FCT Secondary Education Board and the FCT Universal Basic Education Board to follow due process and extant rules and regulations in all their official assignments and financial transactions.

He said this in his post inaugural meeting with board members of both agencies at the secretariat yesterday.

He reiterated his commitment to improving the quality of primary and post primary education in the FCT.

He reminded them about the anticorruption stance of the FCT minister and urged them not to allow personal friendships or political affiliations to influence their official decisions.

Senator Maina further charged the board members to work closely with the staff of both agencies and assured them that his doors were open to them at all times.

While responding, the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board, Dr, Kabir Matazu, thanked the secretary for receiving them warmly so soon after the inauguration and assured him that they would heed to all the advice he had given them.

He assured that he would bring his experience as a lecturer at the NDA for 17 years and his stint as a polytechnic rector to bear on the new assignment.

On his part, the chairman of the Secondary Education Board, Hon. Musa Yahaya, also promised to follow due process in all his official assignments.

He said when he was chairman of Abaji Area Council, following due process had always been his watchword and pledged the cooperation of all the new board members to the development of the secondary education sector of the FCT.

Earlier, Maina told the director, FCT Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Adamu Jatau Noma, who is the secretary of the board, to ensure that the newly appointed members were given their offices and schedules without delay.
