‘Boy whose manhood was cut off by cousin requires plastic surgery’

Twelve-year-old Farouk Ibrahim requires plastic surgery to replace his manhood which was cut off by his cousin, a surgeon, Dr Adamu Bala, has said.

Daily Trust reports that Farouk had his manhood cut off by his cousin, Aliyu Muhammad, while on their way to the farm in Babana community of Niger State in December last year.

Speaking to journalist­s at the premises of the General Hospital Minna, where he is seeking further medical attention, Farouk explained that Aliyu attacked him at about 6am while on his way to the farm and ensured he was unconsciou­s before chopping off his manhood.

“I did not know what was happening, I woke up in the afternoon and was feeling pains in my manhood. When I looked, I saw I was bleeding and my manhood have been cut off,” he said.

Farouk’s uncle, Aliyu, explained Usman that the victim was taken to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital where a temporary surgery was performed on him and a catheter was inserted for urine.

The Head of Surgery of the General Hospital Minna, Dr. Adamu Bala, said Farouk may never have a functional manhood unless he undergoes an elaborate plastic surgery abroad.

The head surgeon said the victim is undergoing psychologi­cal and physical trauma as a result of the act and that the family will need assistance from government and individual­s to raise the money needed for the plastic surgery.

Farouk is appealing to the state government and publicspir­ited individual­s to come to his aid to enable him undergo the required surgery.

The State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Abubakar, said the suspect, who was paraded in December last year has since been charged to court for the crime.
