…President urged to act fast

- By Abbas Jimoh

The National Chairman of Democratic Youth Congress (DYC), Kassim Muhammad Kassim, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to wake up for political activism to avoid defeat in 2019.

Kassim, a member of Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Akwanga South Constituency, said it was no longer news that most of Buhari’s cabinet members were not reaching out nor visiting their people to educate and inform them about the achievements of the APC-led administration.

He also said the achievements of Mr President were under reported by the media.

“Whether we like it or not, most of the crises in Nigeria today are being sponsored by some aggrieved leaders who felt that they are not being carried along or are being frustrated in one way or the other.

“The fight against corruption must continue to better Nigeria; we urge Mr President to summon an emergency meeting of critical stakeholders to holistically address all lingering issues with some of the aggrieved parties.

“This is for the general interest of our party, the APC, because the common man on the street likes Buhari but how many leaders will sincerely sponsor and defend his votes like it was done in 2015?” he asked.

He said the duty of DYC included propagation, information and mobilization of people about Buhari’s struggle for change.
