Police arrest 7 over arms in Kubwa hospital

A43-year-old man, Adesola Eso, who was injured while trying to retrieve some of his personal belongings when his house was being demolished has died in hospital.

In his condolence message to the bereaved family, the Coordinato­r, Abuja Metropolit­an Management Council (AMMC), Malam Umar Shuaibu, expressed regret over the unfortunat­e incident and prayed God to comfort the bereaved family.

Speaking to newsmen following confirmati­on of the death, the coordinato­r indicated that AMMC officials upon receiving the report earlier, sent staff to confirm the incident, but that the mood of the sealed up while its medical director, who was not available during the raid, was still at large.

He urged the NDLEA to ensure it prosecuted any person arrested in connection to hard drugs and possession of Indian hemp in order to discourage those who have intention to go into such illegal businesses.

Yunusa gave the directive at a security meeting he summoned at his palace at the weekend.

He also urged all security agencies to collaborat­e with community leaders, Fulani chiefs and farmers to address the cases of farmers and herders clashes within the chiefdom.

The traditiona­l ruler further called on politician­s in the area to advise their supporters against violence.

“I would also like to use this opportunit­y to call on men of the FRSC to collaborat­e with the authoritie­s of the council to see how a pedestrian bridge will be constructe­d, even though I am also making efforts to see how we can meet with the Ministry of Works to come and intervene,” he said.

Also speaking, the Abaji Divisional Police Officer (DPO), SP Tile Tersoo, appreciate­d the effort of the traditiona­l ruler in maintainin­g peace in the area, saying there was the need for residents to support security agents by giving useful informatio­n that will lead to arrest of suspects in the area.
