Rabiu Shehu Danbaba.
After getting wind of the impeachment attempt, the state party executives convened an emergency meeting to discuss the issue.
Venue of the Monday meeting was not disclosed but a source who attended the meeting said it was attended by 11 of the local government APC chairmen alongside the party executives.
Details of the meeting were not disclosed, but another meeting was held at the party’s state secretariat yesterday.
The state Chairman, Alhaji Uba Nana, and other executives attended the meeting where they discussed the impeachment attempt and other issues.
The meeting was attended by 14 out of the 20 local government APC chairmen.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the state Secretary of the party, Alhaji Haruna Disina, denied the purported sack of the executive members in the state.
According to him, the allegations were nothing but lies made up by detractors who wanted to destabilise the party.
He said no one had the power to remove elected party officials except members of the party who elected them into office.
He, therefore, warned that anyone trying to bring crisis into the party would be appropriately sanctioned, adding that the party’s executive council in Bauchi was still intact.
