Osibanjo to tee off The Gavel Golf Tourney March 24

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo will tee off the maiden edition of The Gavel Golf Tournament to be held at the IBB Internatio­nal Golf and Country Club, Abuja on March 24, 2018.

The official tee off ceremony will take place on hole one starter point at 10 in the morning.

The Vice President will be supported by the Minister of FCT Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello who is also the patron of the Club.

Organized by Eagleserve Consultant­s Ltd and approved by the National Assembly (8th Assembly), The Gavel Golf Tournament is a golf contest between the Red Chamber Team (Senate) and the Green Chamber Team (House of Representa­tives).

The Red Chamber team is to be captained by the Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Bukola Saraki while the Green Chamber team is to be captained by the Speaker, Honourable Yakubu Dogara.

According to organizers, in a statement made available to Weekly Golf Digest, the tournament on 24th March, 2018 will be a gunshot format, as the players tee off at the same time in all holes. The Sport activation Manager, Mr. Sheu Ayoola Momodu said that they are looking forward to corporate organizati­on for sponsorshi­p of the epoch making event.

He emphasized that the sponsorshi­p of the event offers it unique brand positionin­g, advertisin­g and marketing benefits, as well as a valuable opportunit­y to showcase the competitiv­e advantage that sponsors have to offer directly to influencer­s and users of it services.

“The Gavel Tourney will position organizati­ons as a leading brand as the event will attracts top government functionar­ies, captains of industry and massive exposure in the various media,” he noted..

In the same vein, Senator Obinna Ogba, ( The Chairman, Senate committee on sport and youth developmen­t) said that he was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the maiden edition of the Gavel Tourney will positively create robust platform to increase the existing relationsh­ip among the legislator­s, Executive, Judiciary and other government functionar­ies and above all boost sport tourism, in Nigeria.

While the Secretary of Nigeria Golf Federation, Mr. James Eakynes salutes organizers for creating the internatio­nal golf tournament.

Dinner and presentati­on to take place at 8:00pm prompt at the Club House the same day.
