Buhari, Tinubu greet Senator Durojaiye at 85

President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Leader of the All Progressiv­es Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have felicitate­d the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Nigerian Communicat­ions Commission (NCC), Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, who clocked 85years yesterday.

The birthday celebratio­n held at the Metropolit­an Club, on Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, was attended by the crème de la crème from across political and business circles, a statement from NCC said yesterday.

The birthday celebratio­n also featured the launch of a biographic­al book on the celebrant authored by Dare Babarinsa and Dele Fashomi, the NCC statement said.

Speaking at the event, Buhari, who was represente­d by the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, described Durojaye as a man of integrity, who has deployed his intellectu­alism to benefit the business and political spaces in the country.

Also speaking, Tinubu’s representa­tive at the forum, Senator Demola Seriki, described the NCC chair as a ‘public-spirited and committed individual, who has remained faithful to the drive for true democratic precepts and revolution till date.

Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof Umar Danbatta, said Durojaiye’s appointmen­t as NCC board chairman has strengthen­ed the Commission in piloting the affairs of the nation’s telecoms industry.
