‘Dissents’ undermining reconciliation in Bauchi — APC

- From Balarabe Alkassim, Bauchi

The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lamented that “dissents” within the party are undermining reconciliation moves despite recent efforts by the national headquarters of the party and President Buhari to bring everyone on board.

The party in a statement signed by its state Secretary, Barrister Buhari A. Disina, lamented the reported purported moves to remove the Bauchi State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana.

Disina said all leaders and members of the party were solidly behind Uba Nana, Governor Mohammed Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement yesterday said the purported rebellion by a negligible few in Bauchi was “sponsored by a handful of frustrated Abuja politicians.”

The Bauchi APC said it was unfortunate the recent dissention came at a time when President Muhammadu Buhari was making genuine moves to reconcile party grievances through Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“This confirms the concerns that the APC is infested with moles responsible for contradictions and problems in the party.

“The latest meeting which was attended by 14 out of the 20 local government chairmen of the party and 34 of the 36 members of the state exco further proves that the APC structure in the state is solidly behind the chairman.

“It is clear with the attendance at this meeting that only five local government chairmen and two members of the exco are involved with the dissention. We, therefore, urge all APC stakeholders and the public to disregard the antics of the rebels as it is inconsequential,” the statement said.
